Massachusetts State House
The Massachusetts State House , located in the town of Boston at the the United States is the seat of the federate government of the state of the Massachusetts. The building is in the district of Beacon Hill and shelters the services of the governor and the assembly of Massachusetts. It was drawn by the Bostonian architect Charles Bulfinch in order to replace the Old State House. Its construction was completed on January 11th, 1798. It was several times increased and refitted thereafter. Its architecture is characterized by the use of brick and a dome gilded. The building was renovated in 2001 and 2002.
Description
The buildings cover a surface of 27 000 m ² and are on the top of one of the three hills of Boston. In front of the building an equestrian statue of the general Joseph Hooker is.
