Massachusetts Road 128

The Massachusetts Road 128 , often simply called Road 128 , is a road which circumvents Boston on its western part. It 92 km is long and was traced in 1927. In the Years 1970, it became the symbol of the conversion of industry of Boston in the activities of point.

The pole of Boston Cambridge is concidéré like a single research center in the world through these many laboratories dedicated to new technologies (data processing, biotechnology, nuclear power, fiberoptics, electronics, architecture-town planning…) universities of Harvard (capital equipment estimated at more than 6 Md$ per annum) and Massachusetts Institute off Technology (72 laboratories). The " road 128" prolong these university activities through a fabric of companies dedicated to the new technologies, but concidérées like autarkical contrary to the dynamism met in the Silicon Valley.

On this corridor of high technologies, one finds companies such as Digital Equipment Corporation, Data General, Thermo Electron Corporation, Analog Devices, Computervision, Polaroid, Sun Microsystems, BEA Systems and Raytheon.
