Masks, review of homosexualities was a French quarterly review created in 1979, dedicated to the cultural expressions of the Homosexualité S.

Masks

The review would come from the homosexual Committees of district, created at the time of the censure of the " About fifteen cinema homosexuel" in 1978. It had as a publication director Jean-Pierre Joecker. Each number counted 144 pages until the numéo 7: it oscillated then between 160 and 190 pages.

The committee of Masques rejected the injunction with the silence imposed by middle-class morals and separation between homosexual men and women. It militated for a greater visibility of the lesbians and gays. The files, especially devoted to subjects of company or topicality, supplemented articles on the literature, the history or the cinema, of the new literary texts and the talks.

The review was related to the publisher Persona (Latin mask) which republished Éparpillements Natalie Clifford Barney, Tricks of Renaud Camus, White paper of Jean Cocteau, the merry Rapport of 1984 or Men with the pink triangle of Heinz Heger.

Collaborators

The review counted among his/her collaborators: Rene de Ceccatty, Conrad Detrez, Tony Duvert, Francoise d' Eaubonne, Dominique Fernandez, Jocelyne François, Daniel Guerin, Jean-Luc Hennig, Guy Hocquenghem, Hugo Marsan, Patrick Mauriès, Genevieve Pastre,…
