Mashup (music)
See also: Mashup
The mashup , also called bootleg or Bastard Pop is generally a hybrid musical genre since it consists of association, in the same piece, of two or several existing titles, the vocal parts of a piece on the music of another.
This association can be made by musicians or DJ who will mix the original titles (has cappella and instrumental) in fixing the " tempos" (certain artists propose indeed their pieces in version " cappella" has; generally on individual CD promotion whose diffusion, initially reserved for the DJ of the radio operator FM, widened considerably thanks to Internet, this type of individual concerns especially the artists Rap and R' B. The instrumental versions are more current, especially on the individual ones and sometimes on the albums. One can also use a karaoké Logiciel " vocal remover " to attenuate the voice) and there exist other means diverted to find airs has cappella and of instrumental (sometimes it is simply enough to ask the artist politely).
The mashup finds its origin in the capacity and leaning it of certain musicians to recycle any form of music, in particular through the sampling in the Hip-hop or simply the recovery at certain groups. One finds also practices such as the medley, especially practiced during the Eighties by the DJ of radio, which consists in compiling several pieces of the same artist (or not), an good example being Jive Bunny which had attacked the beginnings of the rock'n'roll “roll.
In the few feats of arms of the mashup or related to the mashup, one can quote:
-
Pink Project (group Italo Disco music formed of Stefano Pulga, Luciano Ninzatti, Matteo Bonsanto and Massimo Noah) - Disco music Project : words and solo of guitar of Another Brig in the Wall (Share II) of the Pink Floyd on the music of Mammagamma (and Sirius for the intro) of The Alan Parsons Project (in 1982, already; regarded as the first mashup of the History).

Very often, the title of the mashups (remixs) combines the name of the various implied artists, separated by the abbreviation vs ( versus , employed in English in sporting confrontations inter alia) or a mixture from the various names (for example first name of the one and family name of the other), followed by a mixture of the two original titles which holds sometimes of the Word game.
Side of the DJ, some remixs left into individual (often in the form of White label S):

- One can also quote excel it " The Mash Up Mix 2007" by the DJ Marpol, which is a true masterpiece on the matter. It gathers two complete albums, and exhibe titles such as " Dirty Cash & Every Word" , " Walking One The Moon & Ghet' S Nocht".
- DJ Cysy also proposes some titles: " DJ Cysy vs Dj Khaled - We taking looser " or " DJ Cysy - Big Orgus remix " and well of others…
However, these mashups and remixs not-official are seldom diffused officially, and one speaks for these (of any type, mashup or not) about Bootleg S because of the fact that they are diffused out of the trade-circuit (mainly by Internet or on " white label"). The expression bootleg which has other directions, by indicating for example the pirate recordings of lives. The term bootleg is used often more than mashup which is more one definition of a musical nature whereas bootleg can also indicate a nonofficial remix.
An emission on NRJ (Saturday of 20:00 to 21:00) of Loo & Placido is dedicated to the mashups, as well as the emission Zebramix on Oui FM by DJ Zebra (the week of 20:00 to 21:00 and saturdays of Minuit to 1:00).
