Masamichi NORO is the founder of the Kinomichi and was the internal pupil of Maître Morihei Ueshiba, founder of the Aïkido.
Years of training
Masamichi NORO 野呂昌道 was born on January 21st 1935 with Aomori with the Japan. One of the characteristics of its youths is the musical universe in which it bathed and which will strongly mark its sensitivity. Its education intends it to take again the family businesses but a meeting will definitively direct its life towards martial arts.En 1955, whereas it continues academic works, it obtains from his/her uncle to be presented to a famous Master of Ju-jitsu, Maître Morihei Ueshiba 植芝盛平, founder of the Aïkido 合気道. This event proves to be decisive and the very same day, it decides to give up its projects to become Uchi deshi, raises with residence, of the Master. Its formation with old will proceed night and day near its Master. Thus from 1955 with 1961, it will follow this last of Tokyo to Iwama where Maître Morihei Ueshiba had its deprived Dojo. At that time, 5 uchi deshi (of which Yasuo Kobayashi and Nobuyoshi Tamura] surrounded the founder of the Aikido and from this seedbed the generation was to emerge which formed most of the world Aikido.
Years of propagation of the Aikido
In 1961, Maître Morihei Ueshiba wishes to send an expert in Europe and entrusts to its disciple, Maître Masamichi Noro, whereas it received 6th daN, the care to support the enthusiasm and the training of the European and African practitioners. It thus pushes it to embark towards the West with the title of “official Delegate of the Aïkikaï of Tokyo for the Europe and the Africa”. It should be noted that as of this time, it had given up any daN higher than 6th on behalf of its Master. According to the sea route of the time, he traverses the road of the the Indies, passes the Suez Canal and the Pyramides and unloads with Marseilles on September 3rd, 1961. The beginnings are difficult. Art is new and the manner of teaching quite different from that of the dojo from its Master. All is to be built, include/understand and make available to Western bodies and spirits. Maître Masamichi Noro initially deploys his energy in south-east of the France and in Italy where professors of Judo invite it to enrich knowledge by their pupils. The spirit was with the mutual mutual aid and the pleasure of the study according to the will of Jigoro Kano 嘉納治五郎, founder of the Judo 柔道. The Belgium calls it then. It opens its first dojo there. Furrowing these new grounds for the Budo S, it opens more than 200 dojos both in Europe and in Africa, passing from a jump of plane of the Sweden to the Senegal. It was a time of pioneers. The Masters Mutsuro Nakazono and Nobuyoshi Tamura respectively join it in 1963 and 1964. The task was immense, the success was exemplary. In 1964, Maître Masamichi Noro establishes its base with Paris and shells a continuation of dojos having left their print in the heart of the aïkidokas French: dojo at the Station of North, street of Constancy, street of the Small Hotels. In the Parisian crucible, Maître Masamichi Noro meets Taisen Deshimaru, Karlfried Graf Dürckheim, Marie-Therese Foix, Gisele de Noiret and Doctor Lily Ehrenfried. It opens with novel ideas, with original prospects, Western techniques.
Years of creation of Kinomichi
The second beginning
In 1979, after a discussion with Master Kishomaru Ueshiba 植芝吉祥丸, the son of the founder of the Aikido, it created the Kinomichi in order to push its search further. A new succession of dojos follows Parisian dedicated to the study of Kinomichi: street Logelbach, boulevard of Strasbourg, boulevard of Batignolles. After an inevitable period of adjustments and intense research, the bonds between Kinomichi and the Aikido develop and deepen.
A community of budos
1985, at the time of the 20 years commemoration of the Aikido in Germany and on the invitation of his/her Main friend Katsuaki Asai 浅井勝昭, 8th daN Aïkikaï and pioneer of the Aikido in Germany, it presents Kinomichi in front of a floor of the largest Masters of Aikido of which the Doshu. As of 1996, it returns frequent visits to the World center of the Aikido to Tokyo and of course to the Master Kishomaru Ueshiba, wire of the founder of the Aikido. In 2001, it obtains Ministry for Youth and Sports the recognition of Kinomichi as a sporting discipline. In 2004, it takes part in the demonstrations celebrating the 20 years of the French federation of Aikido, Aïkibudo and Affinitaires, FFAAA, which accommodates Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba, representing World center of the Aikido in Tokyo. In 2007, it accommodates in its dojo Parisian Japanese Masters of which Isoyama senseï on the initiative of the FFAAA.
A requirement of continuous creation
Since its creation, Kinomichi knew 3 phases and Maître Masamichi NORO continuous to say to its pupils who his art is always in evolution. Years 1980 are characterized by a work on the sensitivity, the body like tool for perception of oneself, others and World, on the posture right and slackened. The Nineties accentuate the orientation of thorough and organize the movement starting from an impulse on the ground. With the year 2000, one period opens when the technical richness is declined on various degrees of speed, difficulty and freedom. Each level is of nothing lower than the following but takes its direction as passage to what comes then, like a call to be advanced. Maître Masamichi Noro particularly stresses the heart shin 心. Until today, it had built the access to its art by a work on the breath Ki 気. From now on, it requires more high level which it directs the ki by the shin, the breath by the heart in order to explore then to control the whole of the techniques which illustrate the way that it received from its Master, Morihei Ueshiba. Maître Masamichi Noro deploys his energy to create a discipline open on its becoming, with the example of his own Master who did not have of cease to transform his art until him to give 7 different names like as many terminals on the Way. Maître Masamichi Noro thus takes in heart the etymology of dojo 道場, house where the Way is studied, Dō 道.
