Masami Kurumada

Masami Kurumada was born the December 6th 1953 with Tokyo. Quickly it knew what it wanted to do because as of the college, it took part in the contest of drawing. After a passage as an assistant of KB Inoue, draftsman of Samurai Giants, manga of baseball scenarized by Ikki Kajiwara (Kyojin No Hoshi, Ashita No Joe), it launches its first work in 1974, Sukeban Arashi.

Following that, it launches the following year Mikereko Rock but it is starting from 1977 that its name will be recognized thanks to a manga on the world of boxing, Ring nor Kakero. It will draw this last until 1981, thus made up of 25 volumes. Meanwhile, it will draw others manga such Mabdachi Jingi in 1978 and Jitsuroku! Shinwakai! of 1979 to 1983.

After its success with Boxing ring nor Kakero, he undertakes a new history of the name of Fuma No Kojiro. Drawn of 1982 to 1983 it contains 10 volumes. In 1984, it tries to continue on its impetus with Raimei No Zaji. The not going manga will never have end. After this " défaite" , the same year it draws Otokozaka, which will be published in three volumes.

It is finally in 1986 qu ' it will make a great return with a title which would have could be Ginga No Rin, Saint Seiya. Until 1991, it will make known to us the adventure of Seiya, Shiryu, Shun, Hyoga and Ikki and of their mythical combat vis-a-vis Saga, Poseidon and Hadès. Alas, after 28 volumes, the readers weary themselves of saint seiya and Kurumada must thus stop it.

After the large success of Saint Seiya, it tries to launch a series of the same kind in 1992, Silent Knight Shô, but fails the second volume after the editor asks him to stop. Disappointed, it leaves the editors then and only tries to launch the mangas Akaneiro No Kaze, Aoi Tori Shinwa Blue Myth and Kyôfu Taiken. But none of those will go.

It will return in success that in 1994 thanks to BT' X and its 16 volumes. Following that, he writes a one shot of the name of Evil Crusher Maya in 1998 and decides to take again his favorite work Ring neither Kakero for a continuation, that is to say Ring nor Kakero 2 in 1999. After 21 volumes to date, the manga is still not finished.

Whereas it is in full writing of Boxing ring nor Kakero 2, it recovers all the right of saint seiya and entrusts to a Mangaka, Megumi Okada, the task to take again Saint Seiya under the name of Saint Seiya G (G being Gold) to tell us the battle of the gold knights vis-a-vis the Titans before the arrival of our Heroes.

To finish, for the 20 years of saint seiya, Masami Kurumada decides to take again its work known with the international level (that is to say Saint Seiya) in a chapter of the name of Saint Seiya Next Dimension, telling the bonds between Hadès and the knight of PEGASE 200 before Saint Seiya. Alas for us, with an irregular time, to date Kurumada drew only 8 chapters. Surely abandoned project. But there is can be a reason with that, it is that at the same time, it proposed in Mangaka de Shojo, Shiori Teshirogi, to write the same history but under the name of Saint Seiya Lost Canvas. Thanks to its success, it comes to leave its third volume.
