Maryse Joissains-Masini

Maryse Joissains-Masini is a political woman French, born the August 15th 1942 with Toulon (Var). She is elected mayor of Aix-en-Provence the March 18th 2001 and chairs the Community of the Country of Aix since the April 20th 2001.

She is the wife of Alain Joissains, which was itself mayor of Aix-en-Provence from June 29th, 1978 to March 18th, 1983, and which currently occupies the functions of principal private secretary of the Mayor of Aix-en-Provence. Their daughter, Sophie Joissains, are principal private secretary of the president of the Community of the Country of Aix.

Maryse Joissains is elected appointed the June 16th 2002, for XIIe legislature (2002 - 2007), then re-elected on June 17th, 2007, for XIIIe (2007-2012), in the Quatorzième district of the Rhone delta. It belongs to the group UMP.

At the first turn of the legislative elections of June 10th, 2007 it is placed at the head with more than 44% of the votes and approaches the second with a comfortable advance. June 14th, 2007, she faces her adversary PS on France the 3 Mediterranean. The questions of housing and the environment will be tackled.

At the time of the second turn on June 17th, Mrs. Joissains is re-elected, with 10 points in advance on her adversary Alexandre Medvedowsky, for new a 5 years mandate.

She is also candidate declared with her own succession at the post of mayor of Aix in March 2008 and with that of president of the community of the Country of Aix. She will face the following candidates: Alexandre Medvedowsky (PS), Michel Pezet (dissenting PS), François-Xavier de Peretti (UDF-Modem/Union For Aix), Cyril Di Méo (Greens) and a candidate of the National front, nongiven.

June 29th, 2007 Maryse Joissains inaugurates the Grand Theater of Provence, set up under its impulse, in company of the Minister for the Culture.

In October 2007 she announces that she erases two of her assistant for the elections of 2008 and benefits from it to evoke the probable arrival of his/her Sophie daughter in her list. In the event of re-election, she promises to control with a restricted circle and faithful to avoid the fights being able inside the municipal majority (however contained during the 7 years of current mandature).

Expulsion of SDF (March 2007)

Mrs Joissains obtained on March 6th, 2007 the right to expel the SDF of the commune of Aix in Provence by the police force, after a committed legal procedure in December 2006.
