Mary Pickford

Mary Pickford , of its true name Gladys Louise Smith (born the April 8th 1892 with Toronto, deceased with Santa Monica the May 29th 1979), is a producing Actrice and Canadian businesswoman .

Gone up as of the six years age on the boards, small Mary Pickford was noticed by David Wark Griffith which made of it a dumb film star in 1910. Called “the small one been engaged of promised in marriage America” or “the small one of the world”, it allured the public by his youthful grace and primesautière in films like a poor rich little girl (1917) or the Small Lord Fauntleroy (1921).

  • even if she had attended the school only six or seven months, Mary Pickford was the most astute businesswoman of Hollywood;
  • ironically, until the age of 35 or 40 years, it made its fortune in a role of child, that the public always preferred of it: that of small American models, a determined little girl, with the fair loops, which defended the poor and the underprivileged ones.
