Mary Jane Lamond
Mary Jane Lamond is a singer and Canadian musician born in 1960 with Kingston in Ontario. She sings traditional songs of the island of Cape-Breton the in Scottish Gaelic .
She is graduate program of the Celtic studies of the Université Saint François-Xavier of Antigonish.
She is the singer of the tube of Ashley MacIsaac, Sleepy Maggie , in 1995. She had a song in signal 40 Canadian with Horo Ghoid thu Nighean , its first individual, of her album Suas E! .
Lamond composes and produced songs for the Cinéma and the Théâtre since 2000. She also worked in the radio and took part in various projects with caritative goal. She is active in the fight to preserve and revitalize the Scottish culture of the island of theBreton one. She is member of the Council Gaelic of Nova Scotia and sign the Scottish language through workshops of language and song.
In 2005 it contributed to the album Voyces United for UNHCR (with the profit of the Office of the High Commission of the United Nations for the refugees), with the song Mo Mhaeli Bheag Og .
