The Marx Brothers , or Brothers Marx , were actor S American born with New York, whose father was tailor, Juif, originating in Alsace:
- Chico Marx (Leonard, 1887 - 1961),
- Harpo Marx (Adolph, 1888 - 1964),
- Groucho Marx (Julius, 1890 - 1977),
- Gummo Marx (Milton, 1892 - 1977),
- Zeppo Marx (Herbert, 1901 - 1979).
Formation of the Marx Brothers
They learned how very young people to play the comedy, furrowing the country as of 1909. Also formed with the music, they began their career in the Music-hall in partnership with their mother and their aunt; the Marx Brothers are born in 1926, date of their first musical comedy, The Cocoanuts , which remained two years with the poster in Broadway. The spectacle was carried to the screen in 1929. It was an exceptional triumph.
Characters of Marx Brothers
The principal comic spring of the films in which play Marx Brothers is in the characters played by these actors. These characters are posed as of first films and find themselves with each film. In other words, the character of Groucho, for example, is the same one, it uses the same comic springs, has the same character traits in all films. Only the intrigue changes.

- Marx Brothers are inseparable from the female character, always played by Margaret Dumont, often in love with Groucho, and target of its jokes. Moreover, Groucho called it “fifth” Marx Brothers.

After the cinema…
At the end of their cinematographic career, they separated while Groucho continued its career like organizer TV in the emission You Study Bureau Your Life . Marx Brothers became Satrape S Collège of' Pataphysique in 1953. Groucho also wrote its memories ( Groucho and Me , 1959, and Memoirs off has Mangy Lover , 1964). One can still quote the memories of Harpo: Harpo and me .
