Martinien of Milan
Holy Martinien of Milan , 17th bishop of Milan (423-435). Celebrated the January 2nd.
It took share with the Concile of Éphèse into 431 which affirmed the divine maternity of Marie by naming it of Mother of God ( Theotokos ). He had also written a book to refute Nestorius, the archbishop of Constantinople, which was opposed to the use of this title. Martinien had forwarded this book to the emperor Théodose.
