Martin Ziguélé

Martin Ziguélé (February 12th 1957 -) is a Central African politician , old Prime Minister of the RCA between April 2001 and March 2003.

Biography

Ziguélé is named at the post of Prime Minister by the president Angel-Felix Patassé on April 1st 2001.

At the time of the come to power of the general François Bozize by a coup d'etat the March 15th 2003, Ziguélé is dislocated of its functions and leaves in exile in France.

Ziguélé is candidate with the presidential election of the March 13rd 2005, but its candidature is invalidated by the Constitutional court the December 30th 2004 like that of Patassé and two other candidates. The January 4th 2005, in front of the protests and with the mediation of the Gabonese president Omar Bongo Ondimba, president Bozize uses article 22 of the Constitution to allow Ziguélé, and the two other candidates to present itself, but not Patassé.

Initially independent candidate, Ziguélé is, with the invalidation of the candidature of Patassé with the support encumbering of the party of Patassé, the Liberation movement of the Central African people . At the time of the first tower of presidential on March 13rd, Ziguélé receives 23,5% of the voices and is found with the second tower vis-a-vis president Bozize where it loses largely with 35,4% of the voices.
