Martin Jol

Maarten Cornelis Jol , known as Martin Jol is a trainer Dutch of Football born the January 16th 1956 with $the Hague. He was trainer of Tottenham Hotspur of 2004 to October 2007.

Biography

Player

Its career of player at the station of medium ground started with TEENAGER $the Hague, with which it gained the cut KNVB in 1975, before signing for the Bayern of Munich in 1977. He played for the national team for the first time when he played for FC Twente. He played some time in England for West Bromwich Albion and Coventry City, before finishing his career with TEENAGER $the Hague. Jol played more than 400 matches in club and knew 3 selections in national team.

Trainer

Jol started its career of trainer in 1991 with his old club TEENAGER $the Hague. In four seasons it led the club of the 3rd division to the the first division. Then it took the reins of Scheveningen for one season, gaining the Hoofdklasse, the 3rd division of the Netherlands. In 1996 it dealt with the Roda JC, gaining the Coupe of the Netherlands, the first trophy of the club of Kerkrade since 30 years. Between 1998 and 2004 he was trainer of RKC Waalwijk, one of the smallest clubs clubs of Eredivisie.

In 2004 Jol was chosen by Frank Arnesen, director of football of Tottenham Hotspur, to be the assistant trainer of Jacques Santini; but this one left the club after 17 matches. Jol was then named to manage general club. At the conclusion of its first season (2004-5) with White Binder Lane, the Spurs finished 9th final classification, that is to say the best placement of the club since 1996. At the time of the 2nd season it raised the club with the 5th position of the First League. In parralèle his/her Cock brother became recruiter for the club of Tottenham. But the October 26th 2007, Jol was dislocated of its functions of managing club at the conclusion of the defeat of Spurs vis-a-vis Getafe in Coupe of the UEFA.
