Martin Cruz Smith
Martin Cruz Smith , born Martin William Smith the November 3rd 1942 with Reading, Pennsylvania, the United States, is an American writer. He uses sometimes the pseudonym of Simon Quinn .
Biography
His/her parents are John Calhoun Smith, musician of Jazz, and Louise Lopez, Amerindian, singer of jazz and stimulating of movements for the defense of the rights of the Indians of America.Into 1977 it legally changes its second name of William into Cruz, name of his/her maternal grandmother. Graduate in 1964 of the University of Pennsylvania, it starts like deferring to the Daily News of Philadelphia. Its first novel, " The Indians Won" 1970, presents the question of the minorities, in fact, the Indians of America. Its second novel, " Two hearts of Grey" Novel; 1971, still exploits this seam. In 1981, after a stay in the USSR to document itself, it publishes Gorky Park which quickly becomes a Best seller.
There lives in California with his wife and her three sons, and wants to remain an outsider of the literature.
