Martin Chobli
Professor Martin K. Chobli was born in 1948 with Niaouli in the Sub-prefecture from Allada with the Bénin. In 1968 it obtains the Baccalaureat in Applied sciences with the Béhanzin College of Oporto Novo. It continues its higher learning in Medicine at the University of Dakar to the Senegal.
Later, it is selected to join the Medical college of Clermont-Ferrand where it will obtain the Doctorate of State in Medicine in 1975. Received with the contest of the Interns, it obtains it THESE in Anesthésie Réanimation in 1978. After several stations of specialization in France and to the Gabon, it returns to Benign in 1981.Il is then the first doctor graduate Beninese anesthetist to return to the Benign one.
After a few years of assistantship at the Department of surgery, it obtains the creation of the Intensive care unit to the CNHU of Cotonou. Doctor Chobli passes the contest of aggregation in medicine of the CAMS in 1986 and becomes qualified schoolteacher of the National university of the Benign one. From 1986 to 1991, it sticks to the development of the Service of Anesthesia Reanimation which is then composed of 4 doctors.
From 1991 to 1993, Professor Chobli asks for a setting of availability and follows courses and training courses of recycling to Europe in the fields of the anesthesia, the reanimation, the emergency Médecine and the air crashes and the program scheduling of health.
Of return to Benign, it takes again its services with the UNB but without activities with the CNHU of Cotonou in reasons of administrative problems. Reinstated in all its functions in 1997, it takes the load of the Services of the Urgencies of the CNHU of Cotonou following Pr Henri Valere Kiniffo, admitted with the retirement. In the tread, it is received in the circle of the full professors of pulpit of the CAMS in 1998.
The government of Benign asks him to use its competences for the creation of the Service of emergency Medical assistance of Benign (Samu Bénin) which is created in 1999. It is the first of the kind in French-speaking Africa Subsaharienne and best to date equipped in average materials and human.
In same time, Professor Chobli undertakes intense research activities, of formation and communication to the international plan. He is general secretary then President of the Company of the African French-speaking Anesthetists (SARANF), member of several international companies of medicine and surgery in France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Austria, South Africa, the United States, the Maghreb and Brésil.
Since 2000, Professor Chobli was interested in a new discipline: the assumption of responsibility of the urgencies and the pain. For this reason he became member of the International association of Fight against the Pain and President of the African Section.
In the university plan, it directs the training program of the doctors anesthetists of the national university of the Benign one. A program whose success supported its internationalization with 6 promotions at this days and more than 24 nationalities represented. Professor Chobli was also appointed President of the Jury of the International Contest of Aggregation. He was the only Beninese, all disciplines confused to obtain such a statute. He was also named by the Beninese government, Directeur of the National school of Training of the Male nurses Anesthetists, a school intended to form in Bac+3 of the high-level techniciens in health.
