Martin Balmont
Martin Balmont is a writer of police Heroic fantasy.
It published four novels, published in the Presses of the Center UNESCO of Besancon:
- 1996: the Conquest of Thorland , epistolary novel recalling a military forwarding mixing the Crusaders with the Ukko god, priests of the Odin god, magicians and followers of the Thor god. Ten characters are written, are espionnent and are assassinated on bottom of crusade against the orcs. It belongs to a cycle of four novels made up of the Conquest of Thorland , single novel épisolaire writes to date in the kind, the Flesh and bronze , Bienvenue in Galata , police unfolding, and Enquête in a country in war , with black environment, similar to Sleepy Hollow of Tim Burton (all published with the Presses of Center UNESCO of Besancon (PCUB.fr). One follows the investigation of the ménestrel Eorin Forêtnoire in magic and often black adventures.
- 1999: Investigation in a country in war : whereas the city of Constantinopolia is attacked by an army of orcs sanguinary, the king-magician is assassinated in the Thermal baths of his palate. Which benefits the crime?
- 2000: Welcome with Galata , police investigation on the death of the Baron of a frontier city in period of invasion and pacts militaro-monk.
- 2001: the flesh and suffers it , exploration of a parallel dimension after the stop of time in the civilized Grounds, general place where is held the four novels.
Particularly marked by a pickling humor and an at the same time police and epic tension, the novels of Martin Balmont explore still vague dimensions of the héroic fantasy: its relationships to the close kinds which are the comic novel and the detective novel.
He is also the author of a Dictionnaire of the ancient Latin poets (Presses of Center UNESCO of Besancon, 2000).
