Martha Jefferson

Martha Wayles Skelton Jefferson (October 27th 1748 - September 6th 1782 was the wife of the third president of the the United States of America Thomas Jefferson.

She married in first weddings Barthurst Skelton (in 1766), of which she had a son, John Wayles Skelton (1767-1771). Barthurst died in 1768.

In 1772, it married Thomas Jefferson, of which it had four children, Martha, Jane, a son still-born child, Lucy Elisabeth and Lucy Elisabeth Jr.
