With the 21e century, one attends the rebirth of this instrument thanks to a new French manufacturer. Waves Martenot being a Registered trademark, the new instruments have as a name of mark ondéa .
Constitution
This instrument with Oscillateur electronic monodic is characterized by its particular sonorities, which evoke voices “come besides”. It comprises:
-
a suspended keyboard, whose transposition acts on the height of the sound (its frequency) and thus the Vibrato
- a ribbon parallel with the keyboard authorizing the '' glissandi ''
- a key of expression which controls left hand and which manages the sound volume. By more or less strong pressure, one obtains all the variations of intensity going from the Pianissimo to the Fortissimo. A dry gesture on the key produces a struck sound. One can easily make an analogy between the key of expression and the bow of a string instrument.
- a drawer with various stamps to filter and modify the sound and to get combinations
- diffusers (transformed Loudspeaker S)
- principal or D1: standard loudspeaker of great power
- resonance or D2: loudspeaker assembled behind of the springs in order to obtain an acoustic resonance
- Gong or D3: loudspeaker whose membrane is replaced by a gong to create metal sounds
- palm: part of Lutherie on which are tended metal cords, connected to the engine of the loudspeaker. These vibrations allow a setting in resonance of the various cords granted very precisely.
