Martínez refusals

Dennis Martinez , born Jose Dennis Martínez Emilia on May 14th, 1955 with Granada with the Nicaragua was the first player of Baseball nicaragayen to reach the major Ligues. The launcher droitier, called “El President”, evolved/moved for five teams, and knew its best moments between 1986 and 1993 at the Expos of Montreal, with which it launched the 13th perfect Match of the history of major baseball.

After first difficult years, marked by problems of Alcoholism, Dennis Martinez was engaged by Expos, where it became the launcher number one.

During its 23 years career, Martinez launched 3999.2 handles in 692 parts, gaining 245 victories against 193 defeats, with 2.149 withdrawals over catches, 30 washings and 4 rescues in changing. It dominates for the victories in career at the Latin-American launchers. It is paradoxically the launcher with the most triumphs among those which never knew a season of 20 victories. It is one of the nine launchers of major baseball to have gained 100 matches in each of the two leagues.

The greatest exploit of Martinez Refusals was its left perfect, 13th of the history of Major, in a victory of 2-0 of Expos against the Dodgers, with Los Angeles, the July 28th 1991.

It was selected four times to take part in the star match of major baseball, for the National league in 1990, 1991 and 1992, then for the American in 1995. It dominated the American League for the victories in 1981 at Orioles, and the Main road for the average of deserved points and washings in 1991 with Expos.

In 2005 and 2006, Dennis Martinez was instructor during the camps of drives of Orioles of Baltimore.
