Marsupium

The marsupium is a abdominal Poche. One finds it in particular in the marsupial mammals , to which it gave the name.

The female of the giant Bathynome, a Crustacé, when it is sexually active, develops an incubating pocket called marsupium, located under the body, between the legs, in which it will be able to brood its eggs for one still unknown duration.

At the hippocampus S, the male has a pocket enabling him to brood the Alevin S.
