Marquis de Cholmondeley

Marquis de Cholmondeley ( marquess off Cholmondeley ), marked Chumley , is a British title of nobility.

The title was created in 1815 for George James Cholmondeley, 4th count de Cholmondeley. It is today by its descendant the seventh marquis, David Cholmondeley. The marquis de Cholmondeley is one of the joint-holders of the dignity of Great chamberlain of Great Britain, which ensures a seat with the to him House of Lords.

The marquis also carries the titles of count de Cholmondeley (created in 1706 in the Pairie of England), count de Rocksavage (1815 - Pairie of the United Kingdom), Viscount Malpas (1706), Viscount Cholmondeley (1661 - Pairie of Ireland), baron Cholmondeley off Namptwich (1689 - Pairie of England), baron Newburgh (1716 - Pairie of Great Britain) and baron Newborough (1716 - Pairie of Ireland).

The residence of the marquis de Cholmondeley is Cholmondeley Castle.
