Maroserana
Maroseraña or Maroseranana - literally “those or that which has many ports” - is the dynastic name of the princes at the origin of the empire Sakalava.
One considers that the ancestor founder of the group was Andriamisara, wire itself of Andriamandazoala, a Zafiraminia originating in the current country Antaisaka, in the south-east of Madagascar, established in Fiherenana, the current area of Toliara, undoubtedly about the 16th century. Maroseraña owe their power with the possession of firearms obtained from treating European, in exchange of slaves.
