Maroon 5

Maroon 5 is a group of music pop-rock'n'roll originating in Los Angeles which was rewarded with many recoveries for their first album Songs butt Jane . Left in the vats in June 2002, Songs butt Jane found at the head charts, becoming triple platinum disc in many countries. In the same way, their second acoustic album 1.22.03.Acoustic , which takes again titles live, in acoustic version, album Songs butt Jane , was crowned disc of platinum.

Maroon 5 is permanently in round since the formation of the group in 2000, occurring at the sides of John Mayer, Michelle Branch, Gavin DeGraw, Phantom Planet, The Like, Jason Mraz, The Thrills or The Donnas. They played in first part of the Rolling Stones in August 2005.

Maroon 5 is very known for its interventions against climate warming and a faster projection of the assistance to the environment.

The group was also highly opposed to the Iranian president who does not cease decreasing the freedom of expression and all kinds of freedoms.

Kara' S Flowers

Four of the members of Maroon 5 met with the college with Los Angeles. Adam Levine (singer/guitar), Jesse Carmichael (guitar), Mickey Madden (low) and Ryan Dusick (battery) form Kara' S Flowers, a grunge group which occurs the first time at Whiskey has Go-Go on September 16th, 1995.

The group signs with Reprise Records whereas they are always with the college and leaves its first album The Fourth World during the year 1997 Juste before the three members pass their vat (Ryan Dusick finished its first year in Univerisité of Los Angeles (UCLA)). A video was turned for the song opening the album, " Soap Disco" , but it did not have great success on MTV. In spite of first parts for groups such as Real big fish and Goldfinger, the album pained has to take off commercially speaking, and in 1999, the group separated from its recording company, Reprise Records (it is interesting to note that " The Fourth World" was sold better after the exit of " Songs Jane" butt; that during the years which preceded).
After their " libération" of Recovery Records, the four guy attended various universities in all the E. - U.. They discovered new musical styles and were caught affection for the Motown, the Pop music, R&B, the Soul music, and the Gospel - what will forge later the sound identity of Maroon 5. The four original members of Kara' S Flowers kept contact and started to play together again in 2001. Jesse Carmichael exchanged the guitar against a keyboard, and the need for an additional guitarist was felt. James Valentine, in the past of the Public garden group, united the group to fill this vacuum.

Origin of the name Maroon 5

At the time when the guitarist James Valentine joined Kara' S Flowers in 2001, the group is renamed in Maroon, then a few months later in Maroon 5, because of a conflict of patronyms. The group occurs in show puts with New York and Los Angeles. During an interview to the music channel VH1, Adam Levine spoke about this period when the style of the group was forged. " Whereas we negotiate to record an album, I passed much from time to New York where I plunged in the culture hip-hop as it had never arrived to me at L.A. That opened to me with a completely new kind for me, and which had a large impact on my écriture." The group signed with Octone Records, a New Yorkean independent label associated with the distribution network of BMG, as with Clive Davis of J Records.

Songs butt Jane (2004-2006)

The group records Songs butt Jane with the sudio Rumbo Recorders of Los Angeles, with the producer Matt Wallace, who worked with Train, Blues Traveler, Kyle Riabko and Third Eye Blind. After the exit of the semi-2002 album, the group leaves in round with Michelle Branch and Nikka Costa. At the beginning of the summer 2003, they take part in the concerts of Graham Colton, John Mayer or Counting Crows. In August 2005, the group was the first part of the Rolling Stones.

The majority of the titles of the first album of Maroon 5 are directly inspired by the tumultuous relation between Levine and his/her ex-small friend, Jane: " We broke at the time when the group returned in studio" he explained. " After having selected a series of titles, we decided to entitle the album Songs butt Jane , that seemed the title more approprié."

The first individual " Harder to Breathe" was gradually diffused on the waves, which helped to dope the sales of the album. In the month of March 2004, the album reached signal 20 of the Billboard 200, and " Harder to Breathe" was in signal 20 of the classification Billboard Hot 100 of the individual ones. in August 2005, the album reached its best place, while being classified 6th of Billboard 200,26 months after its exit! (it is the longest duration between the exit of an album and its entry with signal 10 since Nielsen Soundscan in 1991). Songs butt Jane also entered Australian signal 10 while " Harder to Breathe" tie-beam in signal 20 of individual with the the United Kingdom, and signal 40 in Australia and New Zealand. The album ends up awaiting the first place in the United Kingdom and in Australia. The second individual one, " This Love" , also formed part of US and Australian Signal 10, and even of the Signal 3 English and Dutch. The third individual one, " She will Be loved" , was number 5 in the United States and the United Kingdom, and number 1 in Australia. The fourth individual one, " Sunday Morning" , was also classified in the signal 40.
The Grammy Award of the Revelation of the Year 2005 is decreed with the group, and the album Songs butt Jane becomes successively disc of gold, of platinum then triple disc of platinum in many anglophone countries.

The clip of " This Love"

The video clip of the song " This Love" puts in scene the singer Adam Levine and his boyfriend of the time, the signal-model Kelly McGee. The camera is used of kind as much as possible to show intimacy of the couple without however revealing the more intimate parts, in order to avoid a probable censure of the clip. the name of the group comes from Yellow 5, more known under the name of Yellow Number Five, a fictitious group (to be noted that Yellow No 5 is the name of a true group) which owes its fame with its Web site which lodges the cartoon Pokey the Penguin. The members of the group did not reveal the reason of their choice of the color Bordeaux wine, maroon .
the day birthday 10 years of the group, on February 6th, 2004, the album Songs butt Jane was devoted album of platinum.
The group does not appreciate the jacket of its first album.
the actor Jake Gyllenhaal revealed in the magazine Teen People which he attended the same college as the four founding members of the group.
