Markus Näslund

Markus Näslund (born on July 30th 1973 with Örnsköldsvik in Sweden) is a professional player of Hockey. He plays left wing with the Canucks of Vancouver of the National league of hockey. He is the captain of the team since the season 2000.

Career in club

Näslund began its career with MoDo, of the Elitserien, then signed with the Penguins de Pittsburgh, team having chosen it during the Repêchage of entry in the LNH 1991 with the first turn. But after a few seasons, it was exchanged in Canucks for a player who did not succeed in having a place in the LNH, Alek Stojanov. The exchange is regarded as one of best of the history of Canucks.

Näslund led Canucks several seasons to the number of the goals and the points. He played in many matches of stars and he gained the Trophée To ballast B. Pearson, given to the best player in the league chosen by his colleagues during the 2002-03, his best from the point of view of the statistics. He finished in second place in this same season for the Trophée Binder, given by the journalists of hockey to the best player.

With the team of Sweden, it gained the money medal at the time of the championship of the world of 1993 and the bronze medal at the time of the championships of the world of 1999 and 2002.
