Marksman
A marksman is a person ready to carry out shootings of precision using a material adapted such as the Fusil of precision.
Used for the support with average or long distance of the troops to the contact, they are divided into two categories:
- gunners of precision
- marksmen
The gunner of precision in general uses a weapon barrack room in 7,62 mm of an effective range ranging between 400 and 600 Mr.
The marksman uses as for him a weapon of a higher Caliber (in general of the 12,7mm) which allows precise shootings more than 1800 Mr. In addition, capacity of penetration being higher, this gauge allows effective antimateriel shootings (destruction of electric transformers, not protected engines, etc)
The marksmen/precision are frequently requested in missions of police force, such as for example the taking of hostages, for the effectiveness of their remote shooting. One also could observe their use at the time of assassination of personality policies or public protected. It was the case of the US president John F. Kennedy on November 22nd, 1963 at the time of an official visit in Dallas, where it was cut down by a embusqué gunner whereas it crossed the city in the convertible limousine. Since the war of Yugoslavia, the marksmen/precision are used as psychological weapons by the means of more or less targeted shootings aiming at soldiers like civilians, out of the operations of combat (ex: shootings of snipers to Sarajevo).
