Mark out pierhead in France

The beacons of pierhead are road beacons, coded J14a and J14b in France, which is used to mark out the Divergent S.

They are white and green, rétroréfléchissantes of class 2.

Description marks out J14a

The J14a beacon consists of an element in the form of half-circle. It is established on the zone painted in hatchings materializing the proximity of the divergent one. In the event of difficulties of establishment, it can be replaced or supplemented by J12 beacons.

Description marks out J14b

The J14b beacon consists of an even succession of elements (6 to 12) symmetrically established and in form of V to suggest the two currents of circulation. It is used in the indication of the junctions. It can be used in the indication of divergent on which the traffic is very important. The elements are established starting from the nose of divergent and in its prolongation.
