Mark Steyn

Mark Steyn is a journalist and Canadian writer .

Born with Toronto, it makes its beginnings in Journalisme in 1986 when it is engaged like criticism of the Musical comedy for The Independent with London. In 1992 it becomes the film critic for The Spectator , which belonged then to the group Hollinger. After a certain number of years to be written mainly on arts and the culture, it launches out in the political chronicle and makes the jump with the Daily Telegraph , a preserving newspaper with London (which also belonged to the Hollinger group). Steyn is a close relation allied of Conrad Black and written for several of the newspapers of Black at the time.

Since this time, he wrote much for a very great number of newspapers and reviews, of which several belonged to Hollinger, of which: the Jerusalem Post in Israel, the Chicago Sun-Times and the National Review with the the United States, The Australian (in Australia) and for the Irish Times in Ireland. He wrote a regular chronicle for the National Post with the Canada in the Années 1990, but he ceased writing in May 2003 there after the acquisition of the newspaper by CanWest Global. He writes a weekly chronicle for Maclean' S and semi-monthly with the Western Standard .

Partly thanks to its bonds with the Hollinger group, Steyn succeeded in developing an assistantship in all the anglophone countries . At one time or another, its writings were published systematically in the United States, in Canada, with the the United Kingdom, in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, like Israel.

Steyn is the author of several books, of which Broadway Babies Say Goodnight (1997), a history of the Musical comedy, like several collections of its chronicles. America Alone: The End off the World ace We Know It , its first treating book of the policy, was published in the United States the October 2nd 2006 and in the United Kingdom in November.

Steyn has two residences, one with the Quebec (Canada) and the other with the New Hampshire (the United States). He is married and has three children.
