Maritimisation

The maritimisation is, in economy, the process leading the littorals of a great number of countries to take an increasingly significant part in the economy.

The countries most touched by the maritimisation of the economy are those of Southeast Asia, in particular the China, the Japan, Hong-Kong and Singapore.

One can note that one of the major disadvantages of this process is the reinforcement of the inequalities inside the countries. Thus, the China suffers from a true development gap between the coast and the interior.

The maritimisation has a close link with the Littoralisation.
