Maritime Safeguard

The maritime concept of safeguard qualifies the whole of the missions, civil and military, which aim at ensuring the protection and the safety of the maritime approaches of a national territory.

These missions are addressed as well:

  • with the traditional risks related to the maritime activities: First Aid and Rescue at sea, fight against pollution navy, police force of navigation, monitoring of fishings;
  • that with the fights against the illicit activities on sea: Terrorism, Piracy, narcotrafic, clandestine migration by sea…

The missions of maritime safeguard are partly attached to the Action of the State at sea .
