Marise Chamberlain
Marise Chamberlain , born the December 5th 1935 with Christchurch, is a New Zealand Athlète specialist in the races at average distances. It remains the only athlete of New Zealand to have gained an Olympic medal over the track (Lorraine Moller had gained its medal over the marathon).
In 1962, with the plays of the British Empire and the Commonwealth, it gained the money over 880 yards, behind the Australia Dixie Willis. Two years later, with the Olympic Games of Tokyo, it finished third behind the Britannique Ann Packer and the French Maryvonne Dupureur. The first five manhunters (the fourth was the Hungarian Zsuzsa Szabó-Nagy and the fifth the German Antje Gleichfeld) of this final improved the Olympic record realized by Maryvonne Dupureur in semi-final.
With the plays of the British Empire and the Commonwealth of 1966, Chamberlain fell right before the arrival whereas it carried out the race and missed the medals…
