Marion King Hubbert

Marion King Hubbert (October 5th 1903 - October 11th 1989) is a Geophysicist étasunien, which worked in particular in the research laboratories of Shell to Houston. Biography

Hubbert was born with San Sheba, with the Texas in 1903. He attends the Université of Chicago, where he receives his Bachelor off Science in 1926, his Master off Science in 1928 and finally his Ph.D in 1937, studying the Géologie, the Mathématiques and the Physique.

He works as an assistant geologist for the Amerada Petroleum Company during two years, while continuing his Ph.D. He joined the oil company Shell in 1943 - he will leave it in 1964. He becomes thereafter expert in geophysical research for the United States Geological Survey, until the retirement age, in 1976. He also occupies of the posts of professor of geology and geophysics to the Université of Stanford of 1963 to 1968, then with the Université of Berkeley of 1973 to 1976.

He died out on October 11th, 1989 at the 86 years age.

Hubbert is mainly known for its studies on the capacities of the primary reserves of resources such as the Pétrole and the Natural gas.
