(1) This film, admired by André Breton and Ado Kyrou, was drawn from a “spiritistic” novel from the poet and Italian novelist Antonio Fogazzaro (1842-1911). The novel of Fogazzaro in addition gave its name to a Rumanian surrealist publication, animated by Ghérasim Luca, and, in the middle of the Seventies, with a transitory Parisian bookstore-gallery created by Jacques Sautès and Roger Langlais.
