Mario Eduardo Firmenich (Buenos Aires, January 24th 1948) is a former guerilla and one of the founders of the armed organization Montoneros.
Youth

During its secondary studies it took an active part in the group Juventud Estudiantil Catolica (Catholic Youth Coed) where it supported nationalist ideas of right-hand side. Other future leaders of Montoneros, like Fernando Abal Medina and Gustavo Ramus have the same social and ideological origins. It is in this group that he knew the father Jésuite Carlos Mujica who carried out a work as benefactor of the poor and the inhabitants of the cans city of the banlieu of Buenos Aires, and which have an important influence in the orientation of the ideas of the leaders of Montoneros towards the questions of social justice. Mujica was assassinated in 1974 by the Triple has.
Beginnings of Montoneros
Firmenich belonged to the founder group of the organization, with Fernando Abal Medina, Gustavo Ramus, and Norma Arrostito inter alia. The organization was ideologically based on a particular interpretation of the Péronisme, included/understood in a nationalist way like the only revolutionary political form adapted to the situation Argentinian and amalgamated with other elements which they considered present in the peronism, but to which the organization atribua a greater ideological intensity, like catholic nationalism and the cuban revolution. In addition the organization made a worship of Eva Peron which represented for its leaders the most combative image, intransigent and revolutionist of the first Péronisme. The May 29th 1970 Firmenich took part of the Opération Pindapoy, which consisted in the kidnapping and posterior assassination of the former dictator Pedro Eugenio Aramburu, who was subjected so that Montoneros called a popular judgment and not an assassination.A few years later, on September 3rd, 1974, was published in the magazine Caused It Peronista a detailed summary of these events, under the title " Mario Firmenich and Norma Arrostito tell how Aramburu is mort" .
