Mario Bros.
Mario Bros. is a video game of Nintendo which the first version, which left in 1983 on Borne arcade, puts in scene Mario which, for the first time, is accompanied by his/her brother Luigi. The last version in date of this play is the version included in Super Mario Advance on Game Boy Advance and which accompanies the others Super Mario Advance . In this second version the play was completely worked over again but preserves the spirit of the play of origin. The principle of the play is also included in Super Mario Bros. 3 , in which it constitutes one of the Mini-play X in which Mario and Luigi can clash multijouor partly. It is about the first play Mario in which Donkey Kong is not present.
Principle
The play is composed of levels of small size comprising several stages in which enemies leave pipes located at the upper floor and descend the stages to return in pipes located on the lower floor and to arise then by the pipes of the upper floor. To finish a level, the player must eliminate all the enemies. It is necessary for that to strike the ground under the enemies (of a blow of head) in order to make them be turned over the back and to make them thus vulnerable. It is enough to touch them when they are vulnerable to eliminate them. If the player does not eliminate a vulnerable enemy rather quickly, this one is rectified and sets out again. It also changes color and becomes faster. An enemy can change color and thus increase his speed twice. The last enemy living of the level systematically adopts maximum speed and the associated color.
Enemies
There exist several kinds of enemies who have each one an appearance and a different behavior.
Koopas Troopas, Hériss
It is in the original version of this play that Koopas, enemies among most traditional of Mario, appeared for the first time. They are the basic enemies. They are easy to eliminate. In the first version, it acts of Koopas Troopas (called Shellcreepers at the time of the exit of the play), but in the version accompanying Super Mario Advance or in the mode by set of Super Mario Bros. 3, they are replaced by of Hériss.
Mouchak
This fly of combat moves slowly, but it is more difficult to strike the ground in lower part of it because it flies.
Crabs
These crabs owe beings touched twice by in lower part to become vulnerable. After to be touched first once, they become faster.
Other enemies
Other enemies exist that it is not necessary to eliminate to finish the levels. The fireballs can be eliminated by striking them by in lower part, Mister Freezies (ice floes) also. The fireballs can burn Mario, Mister Freezies can transform the level into true skating rink.
Goal of the play
In the original version of 1983, the goal of the play was to eliminate all the enemies present in the level, level after level, by marking the maximum of points and while trying to go possible further. Levels no-claims bonus in which it was necessary to recover a maximum of parts were present. It was possible to play 2, the second player then controlling Luigi and being in competition with the first. In the version developed for Super Mario Advance, an additional mode of play called " Battle" appears, the mode of original play being then famous " Classic". In this Battle mode, the objective is to recover 5 parts before the other players. It becomes also possible to play four in this version.
