Marines

The marines is consisted of the terrestrial troops embarked on military vessels to defend them, thus releasing the crew of the vessel of the tasks of combat, or to unload them in operations amphibians. In graeco-latin and Carthaginian Antiquity, the marines fought on the bridge of the galères, as in the navy with veil at the time of the boardings.

During the Second world war, the reconquest of the Pacific, island in island, was mainly made by the marines of the United States or US Marine Body starting from Bâtiment of specialized unloading.

In France, the marines are a whole of regiments belonging to the Army French. They are Régiment S of Infanterie, armoured tanks or of artillery (" bigors") whose specificity is the drive with the combat and the operations amphibians.
