Marine waterspout

Spectacular phenomenon and violent one, a waterspout marinades is a column, in rotation, of Air mixed with Eau. It is formed above water. Less intense than a Tornado, it is dissipated once on the ground.

The waterspouts are formed when fresh air moves above water relatively hotter. The first stage consists of a column of spray in Rotation, close to the Surface of water, being able or not to be accompanied by a funnel downwards extending starting from a Nuage of the type Cumulus. The funnel lengthens towards water when the waterspout marinades is reinforced. It reaches its Maturité when the funnel touches water surface. The speed of the associated winds can exceed 95km/h. occurring during the day, they can form groups of two or more, last up to 20 minutes and form diameters of a score of meters. They move at 15 to 25 km/h.

The marine waterspouts seem to bring into play winds slower than their terrestrial counterparts and usually appear at the beginning of the be. Enquiring S have photographed of the cloudburst and taken measures to the Cœur of those using instrument S embarked in Avion S. It is however not known clearly if the results obtained on the waterspouts are applicable to the Tornade S, and in particular with those which are strong and violent. The current in the lower levels of the cloudburst can, for example, to differ from that of a tornado because a Vortex on the ocean, circulating on a smooth Surface, is thus subjected to weaker Frottement S.
