Marine park of Saziley
The marine Parc of Saziley is a marine Aire protected (not to be confused with a Natural marine park) located at Mayotte between the southern point from Grande Ground and l'" sand blanc" small island; , in the Indian Ocean. One counts more than 80 species in this park of which some very rare like the Dugong S.
The park was created by the order of the prefect n° 518/SG of April 8th, 1991.
Geomorphology
Entire surface is of 2800 ha- five beaches;
- platier sablo-detrital with presence of herbarium and sometimes in a state of silting;
- an external slope of the Platier often rich in corals;
- a Lagoon a maximum depth of 46 m;
- two channels a maximum respective depth of 19 m (in north east) and 21 m (in the south east);
The reef of white sand with the presence of a small island an overall length with low tide of approximately 500 m made up of coral detrital materials.
