Career within the National front

To the legislative of 2002, it is presented under the label National front (FN) in the Treizième district of the Pas-de-Calais (62). It obtains 24,24% of the voices to the 1st turn, which enables him to be qualified for the second turn. It obtains 32,30% with the second turn against the socialist candidate Jean-Claude Bois.

In 2000, it takes the head of the association Génération Le Pen (founded in 1998 by Samuel Maréchal), which it re-elects Génération' Le Pen , of which the recognized goal is the “dediabolisation” of the party.

It is accordingly of “dediabolisation” that she declares on LCI the April 30th 2003: “It is necessary to make emerge a French Islam, because the Islam of France, one with the impression that it is a territorial concept”. On the question of IVG, it has a position much more flexible than the traditional line of the FN, which is worth criticisms within the party to him. It remains on the other hand favorable to the Capital punishment.

At the time of XIIe Congress of the National front, which was held with Nice in April 2003, Marine Le Pen is relegated to the 34e place of the Central committee by the votes of the departmental delegates. In spite of this disavowal, his/her father appoints it vice-president of the party as of the following day.

She maintains many historical positions of the National front, such as the stop of the immigration and the principle of the national preference. She led countryside for the victory of not to the referendum over the project of Traité establishing a Constitution for Europe in 2005.

At the end of the same year, Marie-France Stirbois, Jacques Bompard and Bernard Antony, which denounces the too great influence of Marine Le Pen to the National front, is excluded from the political office.

With Alain Soral and Jean-François Touzé, it is at the origin of the speech of Valmy the September 20th 2006, day of the launching of the countryside of Jean-Marie Le Pen.

Presidential election of 2007

It was indicated as strategic director of the countryside of his father. It presented the December 11th 2006 the new countryside of poster of the National front: a Maghrebian young woman poses for a poster of the presidential campaign of Jean-Marie Le Pen. The poster on immigration sowed the disorder in the old guard frontist. Representatives of the catholic wing traditionalist of the FN judged the photo one not conforms to the ideology of the FN. Marine Le Pen defended this choice intended to modernize the image of her father. “On this poster, one evokes nationality, the assimilation, the social elevator, secularity, which is fields in which the right-hand side and the left absolutely failed. A certain number of French of immigrant origin are conscious of this failure and intend to obtain answers. Much of them turns to the Jean-Marie Le Pen candidate to obtain some”, it explained.

It presented six posters representing each one a French with the same inch downwards to illustrate the “failure” of the right-hand side and the left in each one of these fields. A seventh poster represents Jean-Marie Le Pen surrounded of the six French with the slogan: “with Le Pen, all together, let us raise our France”.

Marine Le Pen is an increasingly mediatized person, who frequently appears in the European and Québécois media ( Francs-Tireurs ) like on on Internet, in particular the sites DailyMotion and YouTube . Although it shares several traditional positions of the FN, it wants to symbolize a way plus “progressist” and wants to break with the ideas according to which the FN is racist, sexist, anti-semite… Several consider it, in spite of their political divergences, like a woman “beautiful, intelligent, sympathetic nerve” (Thierry Ardisson, Diam' S, Patrick Sebastien), that is to say as being a charismatic personality, which would make it even more dangerous “than his/her father”.

The failure of Jean-Marie Le Pen to the presidential , gratifié of 10,44% whereas he hoped for a new presence with the second turn, causes the discord within the party. Marine Le Pen is shown by her competitors to have moved away the party from her tradition by opening it with the external influences and by adopting a strategy of finally vain “dediabolisation”. Marine Le Pen seems however to have to be the only survivor of what the press calls a “collapse” of the FN, since it is the only member of the party to qualify with the second turn of the legislative elections of the June 17th 2007. By gathering most of the electorate of right-hand side, it carries out a score of 41% vis-a-vis its competitor of the second turn, the Socialist Albert Facon.

Affirming itself disappointed particularly by the socialist outgoing deputy Albert Facon, Daniel Janssens states to want “to give a kick in the anthill”. It is also supported by Alain Griotteray, Michel Caldagués and Paul-Marie Coûteaux (MPF).

To the second turn, the June 17th, the progression compared to 2002 is more important. Marine Le Pen obtains indeed, whereas no candidate eliminated with the first turn invited to refer on his candidature: 17107 votes, are 41,65  % of the votes cast (instead of 32,1  %), while, compared to the second round of 2002, the abstention regresses (of 45  % with 42,2  % of the registered voters) and that the proportion of the white or null votes undergoes a light compressing (7,1  % with 6  % of the voters). Standpoint

“the language which is an basic element of bond of French people, is disappearing. Under the reign of Mr. Sarkozy appeared, in Brittany for example, bilingualism. I.e. you have either what could be comprehensible, the name of the city into Breton, but now you have for example “all directions” or “retail park”; i.e. one returns to the Bilinguisme and it is extremely serious. ”
