Marimekko

Marimekko is a Finnish large company of Design in the sector of clothing and the textiles. It conceives, manufactures and markets, in Finland like abroad, of clothing, the decoration of interior on textile, the bags and other accessories. The notoriety of the mark was done thanks to its style: a whole of simple reasons and very powerful colors.

Marimekko was founded in 1951 by Armi and Viljo Ratia. The mark was made known in the field of clothing as of the years 1960. Kirsti Paakkanen is its owner and managing director since 1991.

The mark is known universally. There exist 25 retail stores in Finland and with Stockholm in Sweden, subsidiary companies in Sweden and Germany, sales representatives and importers in twelve countries. The principal purchasers are Sweden, the the United States, the Germany, the Japan, the Russia and the Norway. Marimekko has approximately 800 retailers a little everywhere in the world.
