Marija Šerifović

Marija Šerifović (Cyrillic: МаријаШерифовић) was born the November 14th 1984. It gained the Concours Eurovision of the song 2007. It is the girl of the singer Verica Šerifović of romano-Serb or Tzigane-Serb origin ( ciganska-srpkinja ) and of Rajko Šerifović, Serb.

Eurovision 2007

Marija Šerifović, representing the Serbia, gained the Concours Eurovision of the song 2007, at 23 years, with 268 points. She interpreted a love song, Molitva (“French prayer”). “I am believing, I am Christian, but the song itself does not have religious significance”, ensures it. “Apart from the title, there is nothing monk. The love is in the middle of the song and it is a universal message”.

A few days after the contest, of the German and Scandinavian tabloïds launch the rumor according to which the gaining song would be a plagiarism of an Albanian song left in 2006 pennies the Ndarja title and interprêtée by Soni Malaj.

Eurovision and the Serb television of state RTS did not make any official statement. From the economic issue and policy, the charges of plagiarism are current in Eurovision .
