Marielle de Sarnez

Marielle de Sarnez is a political woman French born the March 27th 1951 with Paris. She is European Député since 1999, vice-president of the group Alliance of the democrats and the liberals for Europe and executive vice-president of the Union for the French Democracy. She is mother of two children.

Biography

Entered in policy to support the candidature of Valery Giscard d'Estaing for the presidential election of 1974, it is one of the mainstays of the creation of the UDF in 1978.

In the the Seventies and 80, its baccalaureat out of pocket, it collaborates successively near the persons in charge of UDF, Jean Lecanuet, Simone Veil and Raymond Barre before being named a general secretary of the General states of the opposition in 1989.

Of 1993 with 1997, it is successively adviser, then direct of cabinet of Francois Bayrou at the minister of education main road. It is the first French woman not énarque to occupy such a station.

She is then general secretary of the UDF group to the National Assembly between 1997 and 1998.

In 1999, it is elected with the the European Parliament on the list led by Francois Bayrou. It belonged there to the principal founders of the European Democratic party.

She is elected in 2001, adviser of Paris, is elected 14 {{E}} district.

In March 2006, she is elected with the head of the UDF federation of Paris, against the Senator and Adviser of Paris, Yves Pozzo Di Borgo.

In 2007, it is campaign director of Francois Bayrou for the French presidential election of 2007.

In May 2007, Marielle de Sarnez is Democratic candidate UDF-Movement with the French legislative elections of 2007 in the 11th district of Paris, and obtains to 7148 votes among 38.918 votes cast (59 996 registered voters) and cannot be maintained to the second turn.
