Marie of Luxembourg (1462-1546)

Marie of Luxembourg (v. 1472 † April 1st 1546 Fère), girl of Pierre II of Luxembourg, count of Saint-pol., and Marguerite of Savoy (14391483)

Oldest daughter of its parents who did not have wire having reached the adulthood, it is countess of Saint-pol., of Marle and of Soissons.

She marries (1484) in first weddings her uncle Jacques of Savoy (1450 - 1486), count de Romont and baron of Vaud, of which she had:

Widow, it remaria (September 8th 1487) with François de Bourbon (1470 + 1495), count de Vendôme and had:

  • Charles, count then duke of Vendôme and duke of Bourbon;
  • Francois, Count of Saint-pol. and of Estouteville;
  • Louis, which became cardinal;
  • Antoinette, married to Claude of Lorraine, duke of Own way;
  • Louise, abbess of Fontevraud.

With died of its second husband, it took the supervision of her children and controlled the Comté of Vendôme, of which it had usufruct, until its death on April 1st, 1546 with Fère in Picardy. It strongly embellishes the town of Vendôme, making restore or rebuild several buildings.
