Marie Myriam

Marie Myriam (born Myriam Lopès the May 8th 1957 with Braga with the Portugal) is a French Chanteuse, of Portuguese origin . It passed part of its childhood to the Zaire.

Marie Myriam began in 1976 with the song My dove which was a nice success with the Quebec. The following year, it represented the France with the Eurovision the May 7th 1977, the day before its twenty years. Preceding the the United Kingdom, the Ireland and Monaco (represented by Michele Torr), it took down the trophy with the bird and the child whereas the contest proceeded with Wembley in England. This last title remains obviously the greatest success of the singer.

At the beginning of its career, in the years 1980, she sang many songs for youth, like those of the cartoons such as " The marvellous voyage from the Nile Holgersson to the country of the geese sauvages" or credits of emission for youth on TF1 which appeared each year during the festivals of Christmas: " Visitors of Noël" , which shows that she loves the children. In 1992, she writes a song for her son " Small homme".

With the songs " All is pardonné" and " Tell me the silences" , it arrives has to be classified in the ten best sales of 45 turns in France in Signal 50, which became successes. In 1989, it joined Charles Aznavour and other singers while being interdependent for the Armenians which suffered from the terrible earthquake. It is a devoted woman, impassioned and sensitive for many causes.

She has several albums with her credit, discs which contain several other successes, in particular All the songs of the world in 1977, Toujours to leave and the heart sleepwalker in 1979, Sentimentale in 1982, more the beautiful song of love , Vivre and Nostalgia in 1985, All is forgiven in 1986, Dis me silences in 1987 and Petit man in 1989. She leaves some time the artistic medium to raise her small family and to deal with the restaurant which she has with Paris, then towards 1995 for the launching of two compilations returns: " Atouts" and " Charme" , like two new titles.

Until now, it is the last artist representing the France to have gained the Eurovision Contest of the Song. It gave during several years the results of the French vote. In 2004, it was at the sides of Jonatan Cerrada in Eurovision with Istanbul. In 2006, it takes part in the round Tender yearses and wood Heads.

In 2007, it is actress and singer in the musical film King Size carried out by Patrick Maurin on a scenario and songs of Stephan Botti and Christophe Botti . (Exit into the room envisaged with the autumn 2007.) She sings two songs the Blues of Mama and the love to resell . A new compilation is planned for on October 22nd, 2007.
