Marie Laforêt

Marie Laforêt , of her true name Maïténa Doumenach , is an actress and French singer , born the October 5th 1939 with Soulac-on-Sea (the Gironde).

Career

Its career starts “with chance”, after it gained the contest “Birth of a Star” organized by Europe N°1 in 1959. It had replaced her sister with the raised foot there… and was to take down a role in a film of Louis Malle Liberté . The project of film of Louis Malle is given up and finally, it will be with Alain Delon in Plein Sun with Rene Clément that it will make its first appearance noticed with the cinema.

The roles are followed, it marries the realizer Jean-Gabriel Albicocco, who makes it turn in several of his films, in particular the Girl with the eyes of gold according to the novel of Honore de Balzac. In February 1963 leaves its first 45 turns which will mark its career for always, it is the advent of the Vendanges of the Love , an enormous success, to hundreds of miles of the tubes Yéyé of the moment. The tubes are connected.

At the end of the Years 1960, Marie starts a turning and wishes to direct its career towards more varied titles of which it will be a pionnière in France. A recital with the Theater of the City in 1969 and a public recording of these titles will follow. But that does not like CBS, its new recording company. They awaited tubes and light songs, Marie, it, wanted of Yugoslav lullabies in the air of time.

As from this moment and to take again its terms, Maïtena will be nothing any more but “the procurer” of Marie: she will do what the recording companies and the public await from her… Several years pass, of the albums also, and few titles remain… Two great successes however marked this period: Come, Viens , adaptation of an English tube, and It snowed on Yesterday , song-homage to the Beatles. It settles with Geneva in 1978 when it holds, until 1981, a gallery of Article.

During the Years 1980, after a turning by the literature with the publication of Tales and Légendes of my private life at Stock, Marie is devoted especially to the cinema, in France of course, but also in Italy. Few titles leave in spite of some attempts in 1983 for example with Blanche night satin (Taken again Nights in White Satin the Moody Blues .

It returns in 1993 with an album of which it signs all the texts, without pseudonym this time. It is to date its last album and its last titles. One will retain for example Geneva, either or My Viva or " Richard Toll" , homage to Senegal. The career of Marie continues during the Années 1990 with the cinema, one sees it in many films of which Tykho Moon of Enki Bilal. In 1998 an album " Voyages to length cours" appears where one can redécouvrir 17 news recorded on scene at the time of a world tour (1969-1970), Marie Laforet is then at the top of its art, it sings in English, (Barbara Allen), in Spanish (Cabrestero), in Italian (Cicerenella) in Russian, in Rumanian as well as in French (Marleau. Marie Laforet sang much on scene of the songs remained new like " My heart balance" composed on a music of Mendelssohn.

In 2001, it publishes My small magics, recipe book to become young .

From now on, it is on the boards that one can see Marie Laforêt. After having played Maria Fixed, in Master Class for which it had excellent criticisms (Molière in 2000 for its interpretation), it replaces Isabelle Mergault in the part of Laurent Ruquier the Press is unanimous in 2003, one could see it during one month with Cardin Space in 2004 in Jesus the Ruail of Francis Carco. It also takes part each week on Europe 1 in the emission of Laurent Ruquier One will obstruct .

Marie Laforêt goes up on scene from July 14th to 16th 2005, within the framework it Festival Right Rire at Montreal, which is used as preview with a series of Parisian spectacles with the theater of Bouffes, to Paris, from September 12th to 24th 2005, for her first song recital since 1972. The public French, and even international, is with go, the spectacle is played closed counter. After two years of waiting, a series in concert for September 2007 and a round of good-byes are announced, then cancelled following health issues of the singer.

The same year, on its fourth album Six feet under ground , Robert (composer-songwriter of the French alternate scene) takes again the Prière to go to the paradise created by Marie in 1973.
