Marie Jeanne Baptist of Savoy
Marie Jeanne Baptist of Savoy , born in Paris the April 11th 1644, died with Turin the March 15th 1724, was duchess of Geneva of 1659 with 1724 and of Aumale of 1659 with 1686. She was girl of Charles Amédée of Savoy, duke of Geneva, Nemours and Aumale, and Elisabeth of Bourbon-Vendôme.
In 1686, it sells the duchy of Aumale with Louis Auguste of Bourbon, duke of Maine, bastard legitimated of the king Louis XIV and Madam de Montespan.
She was promised in marriage in 1662 to Charles V (1643 † 1690), titular duke of Lorraine, but engagement was broken in 1665.
The May 10th 1665, it married with Turin his/her cousin Charles-Emmanuel II (1634 † 1675), duke of Savoy and prince de Piémont and have a son during the minority of which it exerted regency:
- Victor-Amédée II (1666 † 1732), duke of Savoy and prince de Piémont, and who will become king de Sicile then king de Sardaigne.
The court of Savoy, by respect, named it " Mrs Royale" .
