Marie Harel
Marie Harel , born Fountain the April 28th 1761 with Crouttes, close to Vimoutiers in Normandy and died in 1818 with Champosoult, is regarded as the inventor of the Camembert cheese.
She marries the May 10th 1785 with Camembert Jacques Harel, plowman with Roiville.
It was manufactured, since the end of the 17th century already, a famous cheese in the country of Camembert. Marie Harel would have developed the Camembert cheese, in 1791, by improving this cheese, thanks to the councils of a refractory PrĂȘtre originating in Brie, which it lodged in waiting of better days.
