Marie Hallynck

Marie Hallynck is a Belgian Violoncelliste born with Tournai in 1973.

Course

Marie Hallynck begins the study of the violoncello in her birthplace, then works in Paris with Reine Flachot.

After early studies at Edmond Baert with the royal Academy of music of Brussels, and with the musical Vault Queen Elizabeth, Marie Hallynck improves with János Starker in the United States and Natalia Gutman in Musikhochschule of Stuttgart.

She gained many first prices at the time of national competitions and international with Brussels, Ghent, Paris, Eindhoven… She is also prize winner of the famous Eurovision tournament of the classical music (1992).

In 1992, it receives the diplomas of honor of Mozarteum of Salzburg and Accademia Chigiana of His.

In 1993, it becomes prize winner of the Belgian Foundation of the Vocation, and in 1996 association Juventus (association gathering each year of the young people from 18 to 26 years selected among the most promising talents of whole Europe) chooses it among its prizes winner. It is also profit of a purse of the foundation Emile Bernheim.

In 2000, Marie Hallynck made her beginnings in recital with the Carnegie Hall of New York like with the Philharmonic society of Berlin as a soloist, where it was immediately réinvitée the following year.

In 2001, the association of the European concert halls chooses it like Rising Star and, in 2002, the union of the Belgian musical press appoints it “Soloist of the year” (price which received from the artists experienced such as Gidon Kremer, Antonio Pappano or Philippe Herreweghe).

The most prestigious concert halls accommodate it, among which the palate of the Art schools of Brussels, the Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, the Musikverein of Vienna, the Wigmore Hall of London, Symphony Hall of Birmingham, the Carnegie Hall of New York, Philharmonic societies of Berlin and Cologne, the Theater of the City and the Cité of the Music to Paris

Soloist confirmed, Marie Hallynck played with forty Belgian and foreign orchestras (France, Germany, Holland, the United States, Portugal…) including, in 2005, the National orchestra of Belgium, the Symphony orchestra of Flandres, Philharmonic society of Antwerp, the Chamber orchestra of Wallonia, the Philharmonic orchestra of Saint-Pétersbourg, the Chamber orchestra of Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, the Philharmonic orchestra of Rotterdam…

Marie Hallynck occurs with artists as famous as Martha Argerich, Vadim Repin, Cédric Tiberghien, Alexandre Tharaud, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden, Ronald Van Spaendonck, Gerard Caussé, the Danel quartets, Pzazak and Ysaye, Alexandre Melnikov, Bruno Pasquier, Isabelle Faust, Janine Jansen, Julian Rachlin, Mischa Maïsky, Renaud Capuçon

Parrallèlement with its activities of concert performer, it teaches since the 18 years age to the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels.

In 2006, with the clarinettist Ronald Van Spaendonck (Juventus prize winner) and the pianist Muhiddin Dürrüoglu, Marie Hallynck founded the Kheops Unit.

Marie Hallynck plays on a violoncello of Matteo Goffriller, going back to 1717.
