Marie Anger of Sicily
Marie Anger , queen of Sicily , was born in 1362 and died in 1401. house of Barcelona at the same time on the paternal side and maternal side, it was the girl and heiress of the king Frederic III of Sicily (1342-1377) and his wife the infante Constance of Aragon (1344-1363).
Quand it reached the throne in 1377, Marie was only fourteen years old and was to deal with the dispute of her uncle the king Pierre III of Aragon. On its behalf reigned in the island the Vicaire Artál d' Alagón, assisted of Manfred Chiaramonti, Guillaume de Peralta and François Ventimiglia.
En 1380, Pierre III of Aragon gave the vicairery of the island to his/her son infant it Martin d' Aragon, whose Marie in 1390 the son married, another Martin d' Aragon (1375-1409), known as “the young person”. The royal couple, flanked of Martin “the old man” unloaded in Sicily but have great difficulties of being made recognize. Between 1393 and 1398 an aristocratic revolt made rage, subdued thanks to the assistance of the king Jean Ier d' Aragon, brother of Martin “the old man”. Died of king Jean Ier in 1396, Martin L “the old man” reached the Couronne of Aragon, to which Martin “the young person” became the heir then.
Lui and Marie had a son, Pierre, who died in 1403 but which did not succeed his/her mother. With died of Marie, Martin “the young person” became king de Sicile and accepted from his father the procurery of the Royaume of Sardinia.
Veuf, Martin d' Aragon remaria with the White infante of Navarre (which will become in 1425 the queen Blanche Anger of Navarre) which, with its death, accepted the vicairery of the island.
Marie Ire is buried with Cagliari at the sides of her husband.
