Marie-madeleine Dienesch
Marie-madeleine Dienesch is a French political woman. Born with the Cairo (Egypt) on April 3rd 1914, it died with Paris on January 8th 1998.
Biography
It makes its studies with the Sainte-Marie College, at the free University of the young girls of Neuilly-sur-Seine, with the Collège Sévigné and the University of Paris.During the Second world war, it is professor with the college of St-Brieuc (Coast-of-North, auj. Côtes of Armor) and engages in the Résistance.
In 1945-1946, she is elected appointed with the two constituent National Assemblies then with the National Assembly in which she will sit until 1981 as deputy of the third district of Coast-of-North. Initially MRP, Miss Dienesch is elected under the colors gaullists of 1967 to 1981. She was vice-president of the National Assembly and president of the Commission of the cultural, social and family affairs during the 3rd legislature. It was the first woman president of a parliamentary commission.
It is the second woman member of a government of the Life Egyptian dynasty, the first having been Nafissa Sid Cara in the ministry of Michel Debré.
It is Secretary of State to State education in the fourth government of Georges Pompidou from May 31st to July 4th, 1968, then Secretary of State to the social affairs in that of Maurice Couve of Murville from July 10th, 1968 to June 20th, 1969. It is then Secretary of State to the social action and the readjustment in the cabinet Jacques Chaban-Delmas from June 20th, 1969 to July 5th, 1972, function which it preserves in the three governments of Pierre Messmer from July 5th, 1972 to May 27th, 1974. Then, it is ambassador with the Luxembourg of 1975 to 1978.
It was general also adviser of the Canton of Plouguenast in Coast-of-North (1976-1982), member of the District council of Brittany and member of the the European Parliament.
It decides not to be represented at the time of the legislative elections of 1981 after 36 years of presence in the hemicycle. At the end of its mandate of general adviser, it withdraws political life. It is devoted then to poetry and literary criticism and disappears in January 1998.
Marie-madeleine Dienesch was knight of the Légion of honor.
