Marie-Louise von Franz

Marie-Louise von Franz was a Psychologue Suisse, raises and collaborator of Carl Gustav Jung. She belongs to the historical founders of the analytical Psychologie. She was born the January 4th 1915 with Munich and died the February 17th 1998 with Küsnacht close to Zurich.

Biography

Girl of an Austrian soldier , it was born in an Austrian family and it lived in Switzerland starting from 1918 to finally acquire Swiss nationality in 1938. After literary solids studies, she studied the Psychologie and the traditional Philologie with the Université of Zurich and she obtained a Doctorat in 1943. In 1974, it founds, with other analysts, the foundation for the analysis jungienne ( Stiftung für Jung' sche Psychologie ) in Küsnacht. Marie-Louise von Franz wrote besides on very varied fields, It also was devoted to the research excavated on the relationship between psyché and the matter like on the Synchronicité.

Collaboration with C.G. Jung

In 1933, it meets C.G Jung with which it will work until its death in 1961. At the beginning in load of the translation of Greek and Latin alchemical texts , it actively will collaborate in the creation of major works of Jung. Thus she testifies: “When I met Jung, it had the feeling which I would be his collaborator for the alchemical texts, because of my knowledge of the languages. Thus it gave me to decipher an old text entitled Aurora consurgens. I had to start by learning paleography to only be able to decipher it. It was a writing of the Middle Ages which one cannot usually read. I worked fifteen years with this book and it is one of my principal works. It is noticed that this alchemist sought at the bottom to describe a mystical interior experiment and not any chemical operation. For this reason, it has truffle its text of biblical quotations. Obviously, it is a clerk, probably Dominican who wrote it. For my part, I think that could have been the last work of Thomas d' Aquin.” It was devoted also much to the psychological examination of the fairy tales. Simultaneously with its activities of psychotherapist and writer, it led a brilliant career of teaching and lecturer to Institute C.G. Jung of Zurich and in the whole world. Its therapeutic method applies the discoveries and the bases of Carl Gustav Jung to the nature of unconscious and its dynamism. She however refuses with any theorization of the individual and her psychological disorders. They estimated that there would be a handling likely to distort the curative process. For it, the therapy must follow the tendencies of car cure of psyché human.
